I have a Canon camera which I was given many years ago but have hardly used because I can't get live view to found this forum in the hope that someone can help. I would like a live view with the grid which from the menu is what I've set the camera to but I must be missing something as it's not showing anything other than the camera setting when I point to take a picture. I have done everything in the manual and in a Rebel companion book, including resetting the camera to factory setting to try and get live mode to work, but I just get a screen with all the settings on for the current photo I may be thinking of taking. I've looked on youtube, there are demonstrations of how to set the live view screen but still, it doesn't work. Maybe someone has used that setting on the Canon EOS 1000D, also known as the Rebel?
